ASSISTANT TASTING ROOM MANAGER

We are looking for an Assistant Tasting Room Manager to add to our growing team. This is a full time position reporting directly to the Director of Retail Operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Tap necessary kegs and check all taps for leaks
  • Maintaining draft system and line cleaning
  • Respond to all inquiries both email and voicemail regarding the tasting room or retail operation.
  • Displaying merchandise in a clean, organized fashion.
  • Fully stock merchandise and ‘beer to-go’ cooler
  • Maintain merchandise overstock
  • Maintain the inventory and order all tasting room supplies, including but not limited to flight cards, tour sheets, cleaning room supplies, etc.
  • Updating menu boards and posting availability online
  • Maintain retail POS systems
  • Ensure the tasting room is clean and orderly for opening
  • Oversee part-time tasting room staff
  • Maintain and update the online store as well as process incoming orders
  • Respond to all inquiries both email and voicemail regarding the tasting room or retail operation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field is required
  • Cicerone Certification is preferred
  • TIPS certification required within 30 days of hire

Must be able to:

  • Work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs occasionally
  • Stand for 5-8 hours per day
  • Work in a non-temperature controlled environment

DIRECTOR OF BREWING OPERATIONS

The Director of Brewing Operations will oversee production schedules and ensure implementation of all standard operating procedures to maintain consistency, quality and efficiency throughout the production process.  As part of the management team, this position will work with other area leaders to develop and achieve our brewery wide goals.  A thorough understanding of all aspects of beer production, including grain handling, yeast management, filtration, packaging and QA/QC is required.  This position reports directly to the President and Founder.

Responsibilities

  • With the Head Brewer and Brewing team, ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to, improved upon when applicable as well as utilized for new hire training.
  • Hold all team members accountable to operating within brewery procedures.
  • Work with President on production planning and forecasting.
  • Manage production and packaging team scheduling.
  • Oversee key sourcing and raw material relationships critical for our core beers.
  • Maintain brewing, cellaring, packaging and other related documentation in an organized and complete manner.
  • Maintain brewing areas to ensure operations comply with Quality, Sanitation and Safety standards.
  • Identify areas of increased operational efficiencies and drive continuous improvement culture throughout production team.
  • Develop performance and productivity metrics for all production areas and hold team members accountable for achieving these goals.
  • Mange and expand clean barrel-aging program.
  • Fully leverage Orchestrated Beer brewery management software to streamline ordering, scheduling, and improve overall efficiency of production.
  • Oversee the purchasing and negotiations for brew house materials, and packaged goods, as well as the inventory management of above and finished products.
  • With the Lab Technician and President, develop and review quality reports/statistics to ensure consistent, quality finished goods.
  • Identifying and correct production bottlenecks and assist in managing equipment selection required to execute growth initiatives.
  • Assist in equipment and vendor selection and purchase.
  • Ensure compliance with all Alcohol and Tobacco, Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) standards and required documentation.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews with all direct reports.
  • Assist, as needed, with production including brewing, cellaring, packaging, cleaning, organizing and any other ordinary brewery task.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a production brewery of 15,000+ bbls annual production
  • 7-10+ years in the brewing industry
  • Significant experience managing barrel-aging program
  • Degree in Brewing Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous experience with ERP software such as Orchestrated beer.
  • Project management skills related to brewery expansion and growth projects.
  • Possess technical/mechanical expertise and can troubleshoot and fix production equipment.
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to lead and motive a growing team.
  • High level of attention to detail and strong communication skills.

TASTING ROOM SPECIALIST

Kane Brewing Company is currently interviewing individuals for part-time positions with our retail operations.  The position would require approximately 20-25 hours of work over 3-4 days a week—mostly weekends. IMPORTANT: If you already have a full or part time position with a wholesale distributor of alcohol or a bar/restaurant and are looking for extra hours, please do not apply.  We cannot hire across tiers of the three tier alcohol distribution system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure enjoyable experience to all customers
  • Uphold high standards of service quality and consistency
  • Maintain a clean and well stocked environment
  • Assist customers during the purchase of beer and/or merchandise.
  • Possess full knowledge of our products and offerings to correctly answer customer questions
  • Serve as tour guide for our production facility
  • Trouble shot draft system

Must be able to:

  • Lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs with assistance of hand truck
  • Stand for 5-8 hours per day
  • Work in a non-temperature controlled environment

Other requirements:

  • 21 years of age
  • Prior experience working in craft focused bar or restaurant
  • Knowledge and/or passion for craft beer and brewing or willingness to be trained and learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
