We are currently hiring for the following positions at the brewery:

  • Director of Distribution & Operations (full time)
  • Retail Manager (full time)
  • Cellar Person (full time)
  • Tasting Room Specialist (part time)

DIRECTOR OF DISTRIBUTION & OPERATIONS

The Director of Distribution & Operations is responsible for coordinating operational objectives between the brewing team, distribution, sales and management.  This is a full time position that will report directly to the President and works most closely with the VP of sales and brewing team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review orders and generating sales invoices for delivery team.
  • Determining and organizing truck routes for deliveries
  • Overseeing and monitoring the GPS Tracking System.
  • Oversee inventory availability for delivery scheduled (working with VP Sales and Production Manager to ensure availability)
  • Generate pick lists and organize inventory for drivers
  • Managing full time drivers and their routes
  • Retail keg inventory management
  • Maintenance and upkeep of the trucks (service appointments, etc.), renting additional vehicles when necessary
  • Manage of all information technology systems including the phone system, network, printers, etc.
  • Assist with various other projects around the brewery and offices as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field is required
  • Experience with distribution and logistics a plus
  • Flexible schedule

RETAIL MANAGER

The Retail Manager is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day needs of the tasting room, including management of the online store.  This is a full time position reporting directly to the Director of Retail Operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manages all aspects of the online store including but not limited to updating the online photos and item information, order processing and shipping of merchandise and all customer service inquires.
  • Respond to all inquiries both email and voicemail regarding the tasting room or retail operation.
  • Physical inventory management of all merchandise
  • Receiving in new orders and/or items to ensure quantity, quality and items are correct.
  • Informing VP of Marketing on any low inventory watch-outs
  • Displaying merchandise in a clean, organized fashion.
  • Maintain merchandise overstock
  • Maintain the inventory and order all tasting room supplies, including but not limited to flight cards, tour sheets, cleaning room supplies, etc.
  • Responsible for overseeing the set-up of the tasting room for retail operations during the week
  • Updating menu boards and posting availability online
  • Maintain retail POS systems
  • Ensure the tasting room is clean and orderly for opening
  • Fully stock merchandise and ‘beer to-go’ cooler
  • Tap necessary kegs and check all taps for leaks
  • Assist Director of Retail Operations with any projects in and around the Tasting Room, as needed.
  • Maintaining draft system and line cleaning

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field is required
  • Cicerone Certification is preferred
  • TIPS certification required within 30 days of hire

CELLAR-PERSON

We are looking for a full-time cellar-person to add to our growing production team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Fermentation monitoring
  • CIP/SIP of all brewery vessels
  • Wort and beer transfer
  • Yeast harvest, pitching and health management
  • Manual cleaning of brewery equipment and parts
  • Assisting with packaging; including canning, bottling and kegging
  • Strict adherence to sanitary and record-keeping standards
  • Basic facilities maintenance
  • Basic brewery equipment maintenance
  • Assist brewers with wort-creation and brew house operation

Qualities candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Close attention to details
  • Willingness to assist with tasks outside key responsibilities
  • Communicate efficiently with team and customers
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment

Must be able to:

  • Lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs occasionally
  • Stand for 8-10 hours per day
  • Operate a forklift and complex machinery
  • Work in a non-temperature controlled environment, handling of hazardous materials

Education and Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical degree in related filed is required
  • At least six months previous experience working in a brewery with an understanding of the physical requirements of this type of position

TASTING ROOM SPECIALIST

Kane Brewing Company is currently interviewing individuals for part-time positions with our retail operations.  The position would require approximately 20-25 hours of work over 3-4 days a week—mostly weekends. IMPORTANT: If you already have a full or part time position with a wholesale distributor of alcohol or a bar/restaurant and are looking for extra hours, please do not apply.  We cannot hire across tiers of the three tier alcohol distribution system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure enjoyable experience to all customers
  • Uphold high standards of service quality and consistency
  • Maintain a clean and well stocked environment
  • Assist customers during the purchase of beer and/or merchandise.
  • Possess full knowledge of our products and offerings to correctly answer customer questions
  • Serve as tour guide for our production facility
  • Trouble shot draft system

Must be able to:

  • Lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs with assistance of hand truck
  • Stand for 5-8 hours per day
  • Work in a non-temperature controlled environment

Other requirements:

  • 21 years of age
  • Prior experience working in craft focused bar or restaurant
  • Knowledge and/or passion for craft beer and brewing or willingness to be trained and learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
