Brand Manager

Kane Brewing is currently looking to hire a Territory Brand Manager, North East NJ.

The Brand Manager will be part of a passionate team that plan and execute the sales strategies for the brand and business.  The Brand Manager will have a keen understanding of the local market, craft beer industry, consumer and culture to maintain and increase sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Kane Brewing in a professional manner at all off- and on- premise accounts and prospective new accounts
  • Develop short- and long-term Territory Action Plans (from weekly routing to quarterly/yearly progress tracking)
  • Present weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports to Director of Sales and Marketing during sales team meetings
  • Business Planning – Forecasting and Analytical skills to monitor and plan the business
  • Communicate daily with customers to update them on product availability and solicit orders
  • Meet daily deadline to accurately enter customer orders in order system
  • Periodically visit existing customer sites to maintain and cultivate relationships
  • Field new account inquires
  • Proactively identify and reach out to appropriate prospective new accounts in assigned territory
  • Identify opportunities to grow volume within existing accounts
  • Manage inventory, in coordination with Director of Sales and Marketing, and allocate product where necessary
  • Work with Director of Sales and Marketing to monitor growth among specific customers within territory
  • Attend and represent Kane Brewing at festivals and events
  • Work with Accounting Department to manage account receivable and timely payment from customers

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Specialty sales Role
  • Experience working in Craft Beer industry preferred

  • Brand Representative or Distributor Sales Representative experience a plus
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions
  • Skills : Microsoft office, Microsoft Excel a must

Digital Producer

Kane Brewing is currently looking to hire a Digital Producer.

The Digital Producer will be part of a small and efficient marketing team that plan and execute the marketing strategies for the brand and business.  The Digital Producer will have a keen understanding of the craft beer industry and craft beer consumer to drive the content production for our social channels and website.

If you are a strong communicator, likes to collaborate across departments to develop and drive an organized, efficient, and successful production process, this may be the role for you. Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the production and management of content (photo and video) for our digital platforms, Kanebrewing.com and Kane Brewing Social channels.
  • Plan, coordinate and communicate Kane Brewing seasonal content plans
  • Efficiently execute all stages of production, post production and delivery of content according to Kane Brewing’s daily, seasonal and long term objectives
  • Develop project plans with budget, calendar and deadlines through final content delivery
  • Perform basic website maintenance as well as create and update content across all Kane websites
  • Facilitate content brainstorming sessions

Assistant Retail Manager

We are looking for an Assistant Retail Manager to add to our growing team. This is a full time position reporting directly to the Retail Manager. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Tap necessary kegs and check all taps for leaks 
  • Maintaining draft system and line cleaning 
  • Displaying merchandise in a clean, organized fashion 
  • Fully stock merchandise and “to-go beer” 
  • Maintain merchandise overstock organization 
  • Maintain the inventory and order all tasting room supplies, including but not limited to bathroom & cleaning room supplies, growler tags, etc. 
  • Updating menu boards  
  • Maintain retail POS systems 
  • Ensure the tasting room is clean and orderly for opening 
  • Oversee part-time tasting room staff 
  • Maintain and update the online store as well as process incoming orders  
  • Respond to all inquiries both email and voicemail regarding the tasting room or retail operation 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field is required 
  • Cicerone Certification is preferred 
  • TIPS certification required within 30 days of hire

  • Work nights, weekends and holidays 
  • Lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs occasionally

Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team.

  • Ensure the brewery runs smoothly, from mechanical systems and brewing equipment to stocking necessary repair/replacement parts during all operating hours and on-call basis when off-site.
  • Manage all external contractors/subcontractors
  • Maintain and repair all production systems and equipment which include: pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, boilers, air compressors, conveyors, packaging and process systems, etc.
  • Coordinating with the head brewer, operations, packaging lead, and retail manager for downtime to complete installs, repairs, or replacements
  • Make recommendations for necessary spare parts and backup equipment for efficient performance
  • Purchase and maintain adequate spare parts and supplies to ensure efficient operations
  • Create and maintain thorough digital maintenance logs, library of technical manuals/drawings/schematics, and vendor contact information
  • Prepares cost estimates on proposed projects
  • Develop and maintain complete sets of facilities-related SOP’s and safety procedures, trains staff in accordance with these procedures, and monitors activities to ensure compliance and areas of improvement
  • Conduct daily routine inspection of critical systems and report any unusual conditions, defective materials, faulty equipment, and equipment operating or installed incorrectly
  • Execution of routine maintenance at recommended intervals
  • Develop strategies and best practices to keep all production, tasting room, and other areas cleaned, organized, and free of contamination
  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture and be a safety ambassador on site.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop floor, utility yard, and spare parts department
  • Maintain facility appearance including managing lawn maintenance and snow removal
  • Facilitate the installation of new machines
  • Various repairs/maintenance of mechanical systems
  • Work closely with manufacturers, distributors and other vendors to stay informed of any changes to machine processes, functionality and upgrades

  • Experience in a similar role preferred
  • College degree in related field or vocational diploma strong plus
  • Must be well organized, computer literate with solid understanding of MS office software and internet research
  • Above average mechanical competency and experience and expertise with the safe use of tools and machinery associated with trade and/or maintenance work
  • Familiarity with typical warehouse/manufacturing equipment such as boilers, refrigeration, pumps and piping, and/or packaging equipment a plus
  • Experience in the installation and repair of mechanical equipment preferred
  • Excellent mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed

Senior Accountant

Kane Brewing is currently seeking a Senior Accountant .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record inventory sales transactions in the system and reconcile for accuracy
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Preform monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Post journal entries
  • Assist with month end closing procedures
  • Calculate inventory variances to actual count & post adjustments
  • Preform some AP tasks
  • Backup coverage for Accounts Receivable tasks
  • Code expense reports
  • Assistance with ad-hoc accounting projects & analysis

Cellar Person

We are looking to add a full time Cellar Person to add to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • CIP/SIP of all brewery vessels
  • Wort and beer transfer
  • Yeast harvest, pitching and health management
  • Fermentation monitoring
  • Manual cleaning of brewery equipment and parts
  • Assist brewers with wort-creation and brew house operation
  • Assist with packaging; including canning and bottling, keg filling & cleaning
  • Operating the centrifuge
  • Strict adherence to sanitary and record-keeping standards
  • Basic facilities maintenance
  • Basic brewery equipment maintenance

Qualifications:

  • A degree from a professional brewing education program or related field is preferred
  • At least six months previous experience working in a brewery with an understanding of the physical requirements of this type of position
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions

Hospitality Associate – Part Time

Kane Brewing is currently seeking a Part-Time Hospitality/Retail Associate.  Hospitality Associates pour beer in our Tasting Room and work the retail counter selling beer and merchandise to go. Required work hours are one shift each on Saturday and Sunday.  Approximate hours per weekend: 10 – 16 hours.

IMPORTANT: If you already have a full or part-time position with a wholesale distributor of alcohol or a bar/restaurant and are looking for extra hours, please do not apply.  We cannot hire across tiers of the three-tier alcohol distribution system.

  • Greet customers and welcome them to the Brewery.
