Warehouse Associate

We are looking for a full time Warehouse Associate to add to our growing team.  This full time position reports to our Director of Operations.

  • Receipt of all goods into the brewery, confirm all items and quantities correctly correspond to the packing slip upon acceptance.
  • Ensure all received packing slips are given to the Accounting Department to be processed and paid.
  • Responsible for organization and warehousing of all incoming materials received.
  • Responsible for weekly inventory counts of all raw materials and monthly inventory counts of packaging materials.
  • Ensure warehouse is always clean and organized.
  • Manage the transfer of inventory between warehouses.

Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer is a full-time position reporting to the Marketing Manager and will be responsible for general production of marketing assets for Kane Brewing Co. This position will work collectively with the marketing and sales team to create unique and innovative work for a variety of marketing initiatives, events and promotions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and design marketing materials such as sell sheets, posters, point-of-sale materials, branding elements, apparel, packaging, merchandise, etc.
  • Translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are clear, compelling, creative and visually exciting
  • Shape design decisions in response to leadership feedback
  • Proofread all designs to produce accurate and high-quality work
  • Help manage and maintain all graphic files including logos, photos, art, etc
  • Work closely with vendors and printers to ensure successful outcomes
  • Understand the core values of Kane Brewing and ensure consistency among all of the creative assets

Additional Requirements:

  • Moderate level of craft beer product knowledge.
  • Expert proficiency with the preparation of graphic materials using software such as Adobe in Design CS5, Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Illustrator CS5
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Brand Manager

We are looking for full time Brand Manager to add to our growing team. The Brand Manager will be responsible for West and Northwest territory within New Jersey and report into the Director of Sales and Distribution.

Responsibilities:

  • Professionally represent Kane at all off- and on- premise accounts and prospective new accounts
  • Developing short and long term Territory Action Plans (from weekly routing to quarterly/yearly progress tracking)
  • Present weekly, monthly and quarterly sales reports to Director of Sales and President during sales team meetings
  • Daily correspondence with relevant customers to update them on availability and solicit orders
  • Accurate order entry into the system by the order deadline
  • Periodic in-person visits to existing customers to cultivate relationships
  • Fielding new account inquires
  • Proactive scouting of appropriate prospective new accounts in assigned territories
  • Identify opportunities to grow volume within existing accounts
  • Managing inventory, in coordination with Director of Sales, and allocating kegs where necessary
  • Working with Director of Sales to monitor growth among specific customers and territory wide
  • Attending and representing Kane Brewing at festivals and events
  • Work with Accounting Department to manage account receivable and timely payment from customers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Sales role is required
  • Brand Representative or Distributor Sales Representative experience ideal
  • Experience working in craft brewery sales
  • Knowledge and understanding of craft beer market, industry and trends
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions

Quality Lab Technician

We are looking for a Quality Lab Technician to add to our growing team.  This full-time position reports directly to the Quality Lab Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cell counts of yeast and fermenting wort
  • Perform daily testing on fermenting and finished beer
  • Perform DO testing on finished beer and all packaged beers
  • Perform sterile plating and testing of wort, beer, and yeast samples
  • Harvesting, moving, and pitching yeast
  • Maintain overall yeast health of several in-house strains
  • Perform regular calibration and/or cleaning of lab equipment and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment
  • Organize, track and analyze all results and data
  • Prepare stock solutions and media plates
  • Oversee QC of canning and bottling runs
  • Continue to grow QA/QC program and lab protocols as the company continues to grow
  • Write, update, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the lab
  • Develop and manage sensory panel
  • Oversee and manage barrel-aging program
  • Assist with yeast propagation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field
  • At least 2 year’s work experience in a QC/QA lab
  • A working knowledge of fermentation and brewery operations
  • Strong work ethic, self-starting attitude and a strong attention to detail

Operations Associate

We are looking to add a full time Operations Associate to our growing team.  This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Translating the sales forecast to create a monthly production schedule
  • Manage and implement the production schedule with the production team
  • Forecast raw material needs based on that production schedule
  • Develop key performance and productivity metrics for production team
  • Analyze key performance metrics to determine better operational efficiencies
  • Communication of better operational efficiencies with managers
  • Oversee key sourcing and raw material relationships critical for our core beers
  • Identify areas of increased operational efficiencies and drive continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with the Quality Control department to develop and review quality reports/statistics to ensure consistent, quality finished goods.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in an Operations role of a Manufacturing company.
  • Someone who takes ownership of their work and their team.
  • High level of attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong data, spreadsheet and project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field is required

Packaging Operator

We are looking for a full-time Packaging Operator with a strong attention to detail and a passion for beer to add to our production team.  This full time position reports to our Head Brewer.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in canning utilizing the Wild Goose canning line and bottling on the Meheen bottling line
  • Work with all packaging processes including kegs, bottling and canning
  • Properly clean and fill kegs
  • Ensure all packaging activity is done according to its SOP regarding yield, bottle and can fill-height, dissolved oxygen levels, and crowning and seaming standards and material loss
  • Build and pack cased for cans and bottles
  • Maintain proper packaging records and logs
  • Maintain cleanliness of all packaging equipment
  • Ensure regular maintenance of packaging equipment

Qualifications:

  • A degree from a professional brewing education program or related field is a plus

Wholesale Delivery Person

The Wholesale Delivery Person is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of draft and packaged beer to our customers. In addition to this critical role, delivery persons serve as a front line to our customers, often seeing them in person more frequently than their sales representative.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading the truck each morning according to the invoices assigned to your route, and double checking for accuracy to ensure correct delivery and maximize efficiency
  • Safe and timely delivery to customers within, to the extent possible, their preferred delivery times
  • Delivery directly into cold storage with the signature of an authorized bar/restaurant employee for proof of delivery, and accurate calculation of final invoice amount based on keg credits and tap handle deposits
  • Retrieval of all empty kegs including a general awareness of keg deficits (i.e. consistently delivering more kegs than there are empties to be returned) or keg hoarding (holding onto or cellaring “vintage” kegs)
  • Continued communication with supervisor to make aware of any impending or ongoing issues with customers
  • Properly securing both empty and full kegs in the truck to prevent damage to interior of box
  • Operating the vehicle in a safe manner at all times
  • Responsible for proper service, maintenance, and repair of trucks
  • Bi-weekly exterior washing and interior cleaning for all trucks including front cab and box
  • Accurate and up to date mileage log as well as gas and other expenditures

Beer Garden Server

We are currently looking for a part-time Server for our Beer Garden. This position will be focused on our outdoor beer garden, which plans to re-open in March. The position would require approximately 16-20 hours of work over 3 days a week, including weekends and holidays. IMPORTANT: If you already have a full or part-time position with a wholesale distributor of alcohol or a bar/restaurant and are looking for extra hours, please do not apply.  We cannot hire across tiers of the three-tier alcohol distribution system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and seat them at their appropriate tables
  • Adhere to strict safety and sanitization protocols
  • Pour and serve beer to customers, often handling multiple tables at one time
  • Maintain a clean environment and clear tables after service
  • Understand beer offerings and be able to answer questions as well as make recommendations.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues
  • Process customer payments
  • Ensure an enjoyable experience for all customers
  • Uphold high standards of service quality and consistency
  • Assist with other retail operations as needed

Must be able to:

  • Stand for 6-10 hours per day
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while still prioritizing safety and customer experience
  • Work in a non-temperature-controlled environment with a mask on always

Cellar Person

We are looking to add a full time Cellar Person to add to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • CIP/SIP of all brewery vessels
  • Wort and beer transfer
  • Yeast harvest, pitching and health management
  • Fermentation monitoring
  • Manual cleaning of brewery equipment and parts
  • Assist brewers with wort-creation and brew house operation
  • Assist with packaging; including canning and bottling, keg filling & cleaning
  • Operating the centrifuge
  • Strict adherence to sanitary and record-keeping standards
  • Basic facilities maintenance
  • Basic brewery equipment maintenance

Qualifications:

  • A degree from a professional brewing education program or related field is preferred
  • At least six months previous experience working in a brewery with an understanding of the physical requirements of this type of position
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions
