Marketing Director

Kane Brewing Company is a fast growing and award-winning production brewery located on the coast of New Jersey in Ocean Township. We are looking for Director of Marketing to oversee the daily marketing operations of Kane Brewing, Kane Distributing and Field & Oak to build deeper awareness with current consumers and introduce the brands to new customers. This full-time position will report directly to the President.

 Responsibilities:

  • Work with management team (Production, Sales and Operations) to create, coordinate and manage annual beer release calendar
  • Lead the execution of our marketing strategy, ensuring consistency in message across all communications and media forms
  • Utilizing company objectives, develop and execute annual marketing plan and create quarterly marketing goals.
  • Develop digital media strategy focusing on website maintenance and development, app creation and all social media initiatives
  • Manage all outside media, public relations, and festival requests, press release timing, publishing, copywriting
  • Oversee all creative content materials for wholesale and retail channels managing the overall creative process from concept through execution
  • Develop an annual marketing budget to achieve company goals with a focus on ROI
  • Assist in selection of external agencies and manage the ongoing relationships
  • Build and manage a marketing team in support of company’s growth and marketing initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in a leadership role in the Marketing department of a food and beverage company; brewing or spirits industry experience preferred.
  • Experience successfully working within management group on strategic goals and initiatives
  • Experience working with other department leads (Production, Sales, Retail) to complete projects
  • Degree in Business, Marketing or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Self-motivated with high level attention to detail
  • Proven record of success in prior role
  • Passion for craft beer and a deep understanding of the industry
  • Creative problem solving and thought leadership

Distribution Warehouse Operator

We are looking for a full time Distribution Warehouse Operator to add to our Kane Distributing team.  This position will report directly to the Distribution Manager.  This is a 12:00am-8:00am shift Sunday through Thursday.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all distribution vehicles are ready for next day’s deliveries
  • Route trucks for deliveries utilizing software system
  • Generate pick lists and process invoices to be printed for delivery drivers
  • Accurately load trucks based on pick lists per route
  • Manage inventory in the Distribution warehouse, and record movement between warehouses
  • Move packaged beer inventory from production facility to distribution facility
  • Maintain organization of distribution cold box. Ensure all inventory is properly rotated with a “first in, first out policy”
  • Manage empty keg inventory
  • Maintains a clean and organized warehouse

Wholesale Delivery Person

The Wholesale Delivery Person is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of draft and packaged beer to our customers. In addition to this critical role, delivery persons serve as a front line to our customers, often seeing them in person more frequently than their sales representative.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading the truck each morning according to the invoices assigned to your route, and double checking for accuracy to ensure correct delivery and maximize efficiency
  • Safe and timely delivery to customers within, to the extent possible, their preferred delivery times
  • Delivery directly into cold storage with the signature of an authorized bar/restaurant employee for proof of delivery, and accurate calculation of final invoice amount based on keg credits and tap handle deposits
  • Retrieval of all empty kegs including a general awareness of keg deficits (i.e. consistently delivering more kegs than there are empties to be returned) or keg hoarding (holding onto or cellaring “vintage” kegs)
  • Continued communication with supervisor to make aware of any impending or ongoing issues with customers
  • Properly securing both empty and full kegs in the truck to prevent damage to interior of box
  • Operating the vehicle in a safe manner at all times
  • Responsible for proper service, maintenance, and repair of trucks
  • Bi-weekly exterior washing and interior cleaning for all trucks including front cab and box
  • Accurate and up to date mileage log as well as gas and other expenditures

Brewer

We are looking for full time Shift Brewer to add to our growing team.

 Responsibilities:

  • Strict adherence to production and safety SOPs.
  • Production of wort that falls into the required specifications.
  • Monitoring fermentation temperature and activity.
  • Maintaining proper and accurate brew house records.
  • Maintaining brew house and milling cleanliness and organization
  • Assist in cellar activities such as CIP & SIP, beer transfers, dry-hopping, etc. when needed
  • Assist management in assuring all production employees are always operating within specified safety SOP’s.
  • Assist in clean and sour barrel-aging program as needed
  • Contribute to pilot brewing program

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of proven brewing experience in a production/packaging brewery including wort creation on 10+ barrel brewing system
  • A degree from a professional brewing education program is preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions.

Cellar Person

We are looking to add a full time Cellar Person to add to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • CIP/SIP of all brewery vessels
  • Wort and beer transfer
  • Yeast harvest, pitching and health management
  • Fermentation monitoring
  • Manual cleaning of brewery equipment and parts
  • Assist brewers with wort-creation and brew house operation
  • Assist with packaging; including canning and bottling, keg filling & cleaning
  • Operating the centrifuge
  • Strict adherence to sanitary and record-keeping standards
  • Basic facilities maintenance
  • Basic brewery equipment maintenance

Qualifications:

  • A degree from a professional brewing education program or related field is preferred
  • At least six months previous experience working in a brewery with an understanding of the physical requirements of this type of position

Facilities Maintenance Manager

We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Manager to add to our growing team. The Facilities Manager ensures the brewery runs smoothly, from mechanical systems and brewing equipment to stocking necessary repair/replacement parts to keep production moving.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the brewery runs smoothly, from mechanical systems and brewing equipment to stocking necessary repair/replacement parts
  • Maintain and repair all production systems and equipment which include: pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, boilers, air compressors, conveyors, packaging and process systems, etc.
  • Coordinating with the head brewer, operations, packaging lead, and retail manager for downtime to complete installs, repairs, or replacements
  • Building and managing a thorough spare parts library
  • Create and maintain thorough digital maintenance logs, library of technical manuals/drawings/schematics, and vendor contact information
  • Develop and maintain complete sets of facilities-related SOP’s and safety procedures, trains staff in accordance with these procedures, and monitors activities to ensure compliance and areas of improvement
  • Conduct daily routine inspection of critical systems and report any unusual conditions, defective materials, faulty equipment, and equipment operating or installed incorrectly
  • Execution of routine maintenance at recommended intervals
  • Develop strategies and best practices to keep all production, tasting room, and other areas cleaned, organized, and free of contamination
  • Facilitate the installation of new machines
  • Various repairs/maintenance of mechanical systems
  • Work closely with manufacturers, distributors and other vendors to stay informed of any changes to machine processes, functionality and upgrades

Requirements:

  • At least three years’ experience in one of the following:
    • a trade such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, welding etc.
    • an equipment or automotive mechanic
    • equipment installation or maintenance
    • manufacturing
  • Above average mechanical competency and understanding of tools and their safe use
  • College degree in related field or vocational diploma
  • Familiarity with typical warehouse/manufacturing equipment such as boilers, refrigeration, pumps and piping, and/or packaging equipment a plus
  • Experience in the installation and repair of mechanical equipment preferred
  • Excellent mechanical troubleshooting ability

Human Resources Manager

We are looking for a Human Resource Manager to provide support to employees and managers in the handling of all human resource related activities.

 Responsibilities:

  • Define and champion our core values, mission statement and culture to employees maintaining and promoting a positive work environment
  • Develop career paths for departments and work with employees on development plans and management coaching
  • Manage the employee training and development program including conducting New Employee Orientation, New Manager Orientation and other related compliance training, leadership and management courses, etc. as needed
  • Working with our HR partner to support employees on day-to-day HR issues regarding health benefits, PTO and FMLA as well as employee Leave of Absences, Short-Term Disability, FMLA requests, Workers Compensation issues, and unemployment claims
  • Administer bi-weekly payroll
  • Processes new-hire, status change and termination paperwork
  • Assist in the recruitment efforts and new hire and transfer processes including but not limited to: coordination of openings, development of job descriptions, diversity recruitment strategies, interview candidates, job offer recommendations and offer letters

Qualifications:

Packaging Operator

We are looking for a full time Packaging Operator to add to our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all packaging activity is done according to its SOP.
  • Properly clean and fill kegs.
  • Assist in canning utilizing the Wild Goose canning line and bottling on the Meheen bottling line.
  • Build and pack cased for cans and bottles.

Part Time Server

We are currently looking for a part-time Server.  The position would require approximately 16-20 hours of work over 3 days a week, including weekends and holidays. IMPORTANT: If you already have a full or part-time position with a wholesale distributor of alcohol or a bar/restaurant and are looking for extra hours, please do not apply.  We cannot hire across tiers of the three-tier alcohol distribution system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to strict safety and sanitization protocols
  • Pour and serve beer to customers, often handling multiple customers at one time
  • Maintain a clean environment and clear tables after service
  • Understand beer offerings and be able to answer questions as well as make recommendations.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues
  • Process customer payments
  • Ensure an enjoyable experience for all customers
  • Uphold high standards of service quality and consistency
  • Assist with other retail operations as needed

Must be able to:

  • Stand for 6-10 hours per day
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while still prioritizing safety and customer experience
