Director of Sales

Kane currently has an opening for a Director of Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales team to maintain and develop both on-premise and off-premise accounts in New Jersey.
  • Work collaboratively with management on setting and achieving company goals based on our mission and values
  • Develop and implement growth strategies for current brands and new brands in both on and off-premise markets.
  • Work with the finance and operation team leads on annual forecasting and budgeting.
  • Lead weekly sales meetings with brand management team and President.
  • Track monthly and quarterly sales against budget.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews assessing brands, accounts and territories.
  • Manage, mentor and train team of brand managers working in the field.
  • Perform monthly market visits with brand managers in each territory.
  • Work with management team on new product development and roll-out.
  • Identify new business opportunities in either new markets, channels or products.
  • Oversee distribution department including warehouse managers and delivery drivers.
  • Coordinate with outside suppliers on distribution plans for the state and new product launches
  • Manage and submit administrative and regulatory filings as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • 5+ years in beer (preferably craft beer) or adjacent beverage/CPG industry sales
  • 3+ years of managing direct reports/team, including field sales
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership, team-work, and success in prior positions
  • Applied knowledge of Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute a variety of strategies to meet objectives (i.e. sales, training and development, process improvement, change management)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at all levels

Strongly Desired:

  • MBA/Master’s degree in relevant field
  • Profit & Loss experience highly desirable
  • Demonstrated communication, presentation and negotiation skills

Marketing Manager

Kane Brewing is currently seeking a Marketing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with management team (Production, Sales and Operations) to create, coordinate and manage annual beer release calendar
  • Lead the execution of our marketing strategy, ensuring consistency in message across all communications and media forms
  • Utilizing company objectives, develop and execute annual marketing plan and create quarterly marketing goals.
  • Develop digital media strategy focusing on website maintenance and development, app creation and all social media initiatives
  • Manage all outside media, public relations, and festival requests, press release timing, publishing, copywriting
  • Oversee all creative content materials for wholesale and retail channels managing the overall creative process from concept through execution
  • Develop an annual marketing budget to achieve company goals with a focus on ROI
  • Assist in selection of external agencies and manage the ongoing relationships
  • Manage a marketing team in support of company’s growth and marketing initiatives

Staff/Senior Accountant

Kane Brewing is currently seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record inventory sales transactions in the system and reconcile for accuracy
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Preform monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Post journal entries
  • Preform month end closing procedures
  • Calculate inventory variances to actual count & post adjustments
  • Preform some AP tasks (review invoices/prepare check run/Cut checks)
  • Backup coverage for Accounts Receivable tasks
  • Preform comparison of P&L statement to budget/forecast
  • Code AMEX expenses & review submitted receipts
  • Assistance with ad-hoc accounting projects & analysis

Cellar Person

We are looking to add a full time Cellar Person to add to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • CIP/SIP of all brewery vessels
  • Wort and beer transfer
  • Yeast harvest, pitching and health management
  • Fermentation monitoring
  • Manual cleaning of brewery equipment and parts
  • Assist brewers with wort-creation and brew house operation
  • Assist with packaging; including canning and bottling, keg filling & cleaning
  • Operating the centrifuge
  • Strict adherence to sanitary and record-keeping standards
  • Basic facilities maintenance
  • Basic brewery equipment maintenance

Qualifications:

  • A degree from a professional brewing education program or related field is preferred
  • At least six months previous experience working in a brewery with an understanding of the physical requirements of this type of position
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions

Successful candidates will also possess:

Wholesale Delivery Person

The Wholesale Delivery Person is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of draft and packaged beer to our customers. In addition to this critical role, delivery persons serve as a front line to our customers, often seeing them in person more frequently than their sales representative.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading the truck each morning according to the invoices assigned to your route, and double checking for accuracy to ensure correct delivery and maximize efficiency
  • Safe and timely delivery to customers within, to the extent possible, their preferred delivery times
  • Delivery directly into cold storage with the signature of an authorized bar/restaurant employee for proof of delivery, and accurate calculation of final invoice amount based on keg credits and tap handle deposits
  • Retrieval of all empty kegs including a general awareness of keg deficits (i.e. consistently delivering more kegs than there are empties to be returned) or keg hoarding (holding onto or cellaring “vintage” kegs)
  • Continued communication with supervisor to make aware of any impending or ongoing issues with customers
  • Properly securing both empty and full kegs in the truck to prevent damage to interior of box
  • Operating the vehicle in a safe manner at all times
  • Responsible for proper service, maintenance, and repair of trucks
  • Bi-weekly exterior washing and interior cleaning for all trucks including front cab and box
  • Accurate and up to date mileage log as well as gas and other expenditures

Successful candidates will also possess:

  • Ability to lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs regularly

Hospitality Associate – Part Time

Kane Brewing is currently seeking a Part-Time Hospitality/Retail Associate.  Hospitality Associates pour beer in our Tasting Room & Beer Garden and work the retail counter selling beer and merchandise to go. Required work hours are one shift each on Saturday and Sunday.  Approximate hours per weekend: 10 – 16 hours.

IMPORTANT: If you already have a full or part-time position with a wholesale distributor of alcohol or a bar/restaurant and are looking for extra hours, please do not apply.  We cannot hire across tiers of the three-tier alcohol distribution system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and welcome them to the Brewery.
  • Adhere to strict safety and sanitization protocols
  • Pour and serve beer to customers.
  • Maintain a clean environment.
  • Understand beer offerings and be able to answer questions as well as make recommendations.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues.
  • Process customer payments.
  • Ensure an enjoyable experience for all customers.
  • Uphold high standards of service quality and consistency.
  • Assist with other retail operations as needed.

Requirements:

  • 21 years of age
  • Stand for 6-10 hours per day
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while still prioritizing safety and customer experience
  • Work in a non-temperature-controlled environment

  • Excellent customer service and hospitality skills
  • Prior experience working in craft-focused bar or restaurant

Strongly Desired:

  • High level knowledge of draft system a plus
