Director of Sales

The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading a team of brand managers, developing and executing market strategies for New Jersey and identifying new business opportunities. This full-time position reports directly to the President.

 Responsibilities:

  • Work with sales team on maintaining and developing both on-premise and off-premise accounts in New Jersey
  • Continue to develop a market strategy for current brands and new brands in both on and off-premise markets
  • Work with the management team on annual forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Track monthly and quarterly sales against budget
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews assessing brands, accounts and territories
  • Manage, mentor and train team of brand managers who work in the field
  • Perform monthly market visits, and conduct work within each territory
  • Handle new account inquiries for applicable territories forwarding leads to Brand Manager for other territories
  • Work with management team on new product development and roll-out
  • Work closely with Director of Marketing on sale strategies and execution
  • Identify new business opportunities in either new markets, channels or products
  • Work closely with Director of Distribution to ensure orders and deliveries are properly handled by distribution team
  • Lead weekly sales meetings with brand management team and President

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; Master’s degree in similar field preferred
  • 5+ years working in craft beer sales required
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions

Brand Manager

We are looking for full-time Brand Manager to add to our growing team.

The Brand Manager is responsible for wholesale draft (on-premise) and retail packaged sales (off-premise) in his or her assigned territory within New Jersey. This includes the acquisition of new accounts and the maintenance of existing accounts through relationship building with a focus on increasing draft presence and premium shelf space to drive sales. In addition, this person will be soliciting orders, assigning them to the correct distribution geography and entering them into the system for processing and delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Professionally represent Kane at all off- and on-premise accounts and prospective new accounts
  • Develop short and long term Territory Action Plans (from weekly routing to quarterly/yearly progress tracking)
  • Present weekly, monthly and quarterly sales reports to Director of Sales and President during sale team meetings
  • Daily correspondence with relevant customers to update them on availability and solicit orders
  • Accurate order entry into the system by the order deadline
  • Periodic in-person visits to existing customers to cultivate relationships
  • Field new account inquires
  • Proactively scout appropriate prospective new accounts in assigned territories
  • Identify opportunities to grow volume within existing accounts
  • Manage inventory in coordination with the Director of Sales and allocate kegs where necessary
  • Work with the Director of Sales to monitor growth among specific customers and territory-wide
  • Attend and represent Kane Brewing at festivals and events
  • Work with Accounting Department to manage accounts receivable and timely payments from customers
  • Manage off-premise accounts to maintain placements and proper product rotation to maintain freshness

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Sales role is required
  • Brand Representative or Distributor Sales Representative experience ideal
  • Experience working in craft brewery sales
  • Knowledge and understanding of craft beer market, industry, and trends
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions

Production Supervisor

We are looking for a full-time Production Supervisor to add to our growing team.

The Production Supervisor must be proficient in all operations within the brewery and reports to our Head Brewer. The position supervises and coordinates brewing, cellaring, and packaging team members, ensuring production plan execution while monitoring brewery operations in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in all production operations with a strong focus on adherence to SOPs and safety.
  • Mange shift production team and be a resource for questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Adhere, edit and update all SOPs to elevate process control and minimize variability across the team.
  • Work with Head Brewer to plan efficient use of resources and staffing.
  • Ensure the production environment and all equipment meets QA/QC standards of cleanliness and sanitation and implement improvements where appropriate.
  • Ensure all equipment is operating safely, at maximum efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in problem-solving.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings to keep the production team informed of schedule, equipment, and staffing changes.
  • Lead the continuous improvement effort and track and report progress.

Requirements:

  • College degree in the applicable fields of Brewing Science, Food Science, Chemistry and Engineering considered a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of brewery experience in a production brewery
  • Proven management of 5+ person production team per shift
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions
  • Equivalent related leadership experience in a related food or beverage industry will be considered
  • In-depth experience with brewing, cellaring and packaging systems
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Able to work rotating shifts if needed

Brewer

We are looking for full-time Brewer to add to our growing team.

 Responsibilities:

  • Strict adherence to production and safety SOPs
  • Production of wort that falls into the required specifications
  • Yeast management and pitching the correct amount of yeast for each batch
  • Monitor fermentation temperature and activity
  • Maintain proper and accurate brew house records
  • Maintain brewhouse and milling cleanliness and organization
  • Assist in cellar activities such as CIP & SIP, beer transfers, dry-hopping, etc. when needed
  • Assist management in assuring all production employees are always operating within specified safety SOP’s
  • Assist in the clean and sour barrel-aging program as needed
  • Contribute to pilot brewing program

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of proven brewing experience in a production/packaging brewery including wort creation on 10+ barrel brewing system
  • A degree from a professional brewing education program is preferred

Cellar Person

We are looking for a full-time Cellar Person to add to our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • CIP/SIP of all brewery vessels
  • Wort and beer transfer
  • Yeast harvest, pitching and health management

Packaging Operator

We are looking for a full-time Packaging Operator to add to our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with all packaging processes including kegs, bottling and canning
  • Properly clean and fill kegs
  • Ensure all beer is in the proper condition (temperature, carbonation level, etc.) prior to packaging
  • Ensure all packaging activity is done according to its SOP regarding yield, bottle and can fill-height, dissolved oxygen levels, and crowning and seaming standards and material loss
  • Assist in canning utilizing the Wild Goose canning line and bottling on the Meheen bottling line
  • Build and pack cased for cans and bottles
  • Maintain proper packaging records and logs
  • Maintain cleanliness of all packaging equipment
  • Ensure regular maintenance of packaging equipment

Qualifications:

Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to add to our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily Monitoring of the facility’s equipment and utility systems to identify potential issues and report/confer with department head
  • Preventative and routine maintenance of brewing, mechanical, and material handling equipment
  • Perform and/or assist with repairs of inoperable or malfunctioning equipment while minimizing production downtime
  • Assist with installation of new equipment
  • Accurately document, record, and update daily logs as they relate to maintenance and repair projects
  • Assist with larger projects that fall under the department’s responsibilities
  • Work safely; maintain good sanitation and good manufacturing practices
  • Occasional maintenance of building and grounds as needed
  • Other miscellaneous projects around the facility

Qualifications:

  • At least one year experience in:
    • a trade such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, welding etc.
    • an equipment or automotive mechanic
    • equipment installation or maintenance
    • manufacturing
  • Above-average mechanical competency and understanding of tools and their safe use
  • Vocational or technical school education/diploma
  • Familiarity with typical warehouse/manufacturing equipment such as boilers, refrigeration, pumps and piping, and/or packaging equipment is a plus
  • Experience in the installation and repair of mechanical equipment preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions
  • Excellent mechanical troubleshooting ability

Must be able to:

  • Lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs occasionally

Distribution Warehouse Operator

We are looking for a full-time Warehouse Operator to add to our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all distribution vehicles are ready for next day’s deliveries
  • Review orders and generate sales invoices for delivery team
  • Generate pick lists and organize inventory for drivers
  • Route trucks for deliveries utilizing software system
  • Accurately load trucks based on pick lists per route
  • Prepare all driver paperwork
  • Move packaged beer inventory from production facility to distribution facility
  • Maintain organization of distribution cold box. Ensure all inventory is properly rotated with a “first in, first out policy.”
  • Manage empty keg inventory
  • Assist with various other projects around the brewery and offices as needed

Delivery Driver

We are looking for a full time Delivery Driver to add to our growing team.

The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of draft and packaged beer to our customers. In addition to this critical role, drivers serve as a front line to our customers, often seeing them in person more frequently than their sales representative.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading the truck each morning according to the invoices assigned to your route, and double checking for accuracy to ensure correct delivery and maximize efficiency
  • Safe and timely delivery to customers within, to the extent possible, their preferred delivery times
  • Delivery directly into cold storage with the signature of an authorized bar/restaurant employee for proof of delivery, and accurate calculation of final invoice amount based on keg credits and tap handle deposits
  • Retrieval of all empty kegs including a general awareness of keg deficits (i.e. consistently delivering more kegs than there are empties to be returned) or keg hoarding (holding onto or cellaring “vintage” kegs)
  • Continued communication with supervisor to make aware of any impending or ongoing issues with customers
  • Properly securing both empty and full kegs in the truck to prevent damage to interior of box
  • Operating the vehicle in a safe manner at all times
  • Responsible for proper service, maintenance, and repair of trucks
  • Bi-weekly exterior washing and interior cleaning for all trucks including front cab and box
  • Accurate and up to date mileage log as well as gas and other expenditures

TASTING ROOM

Kane Brewing Company is currently interviewing individuals for part-time positions with our retail operations.  The position would require approximately 20-25 hours of work over 3-4 days a week—mostly weekends. IMPORTANT: If you already have a full or part-time position with a wholesale distributor of alcohol or a bar/restaurant and are looking for extra hours, please do not apply.  We cannot hire across tiers of the three-tier alcohol distribution system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure an enjoyable experience for all customers
  • Uphold high standards of service quality and consistency
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked environment
  • Assist customers during the purchase of beer and/or merchandise.
  • Possess full knowledge of our products and offerings to correctly answer customer questions
