Brewer

We are looking for full-time Brewer to add to our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Strict adherence to production and safety SOPs.
  • Production of wort that falls into the required specifications.
  • Monitoring fermentation temperature and activity.
  • Maintaining proper and accurate brew house records.
  • Maintaining brew house and milling cleanliness and organization
  • Assist in cellar activities such as CIP & SIP, beer transfers, dry-hopping, etc. when needed
  • Assist management in assuring all production employees are always operating within specified safety SOP’s.
  • Assist in clean and sour barrel-aging program as needed
  • Contribute to pilot brewing program

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of proven brewing experience in a production/packaging brewery including wort creation on 10+ barrel brewing system
  • A degree from a professional brewing education program is preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of success in prior positions.

Field & Oak Cellar Person

Field & Oak is Kane Brewing’s Spontaneous and Saison beer project.  We are looking for a Barrel Cellar Person to join our Field & Oak team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in brewing and preparation for Field & Oak coolship and saison batches
  • Barrel maintenance & inspection – including swelling and leak repair
  • Maintain cleanliness of Field & Oak barrel warehouse including mopping and pressure washing
  • Perform monthly barrel inventories, barrel checks and creation of barrel tags for new batches
  • Maintain strict separation of Kane and Field & Oak brewery cellars with mindfulness of cross-contamination risks
  • Elite attention to detail, following SOPs and Checklists to ensure safety and consistent production of top tier product
  • Ability to drive to pick up fruit from our farmer partners in NJ
  • Processing of fruit, spices, and hops
  • Safe barrel movement and stacking via forklift with barrels ranging from 225l-600l
  • Detailed record keeping for barrel racking, fruiting, adjuncting and blending
  • CIP/Sani/Purge of tanks, coolship, packaging equipment and barrel racking lines
  • Barrel purging, filling, and racking
  • Barrel cleaning and sulfuring with pressure washing assembly
  • Bottling via 6 head gravity filler including manual corking, capping, and labeling
  • Assist as needed with Kane clean barrel program and adjuncting, cellaring, packaging, and pilot system brewing

Packaging Operator

We are looking for a full-time Packaging Operator with a strong attention to detail and a passion for beer to add to our production team.  This full time position reports to our Head Brewer.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in canning utilizing the Wild Goose canning line and bottling on the Meheen bottling line
  • Work with all packaging processes including kegs, bottling and canning
  • Properly clean and fill kegs
  • Ensure all packaging activity is done according to its SOP regarding yield, bottle and can fill-height, dissolved oxygen levels, and crowning and seaming standards and material loss
  • Build and pack cased for cans and bottles
  • Maintain proper packaging records and logs
  • Maintain cleanliness of all packaging equipment
  • Ensure regular maintenance of packaging equipment

Qualifications:

  • A degree from a professional brewing education program or related field is a plus

Creative Designer

The Creative Designer is a full-time position reporting to the Marketing Manager and will be responsible for general production of marketing assets. This position will work collectively with the marketing team to create unique and innovative work for a variety of marketing initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and design marketing materials such as labels, sell sheets, point-of-sale materials, branding elements, apparel, packaging, merchandise, etc.
  • Translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are clear, compelling, creative and visually exciting
  • Shape design decisions in response to leadership feedback
  • Research creative trends in competitive markets and apply that knowledge and learning to development of new marketing and packing projects
  • Proofread all designs to produce accurate and high-quality work
  • Assist in creating social media content
  • Help manage and maintain all graphic files including logos, photos, art, etc.
  • Work closely with vendors and printers to ensure successful outcomes
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with strategic and creative marketing plans
  • Understand the core values of Kane Brewing and ensure consistency among all the creative assets

  • A keen sense of design and knowledge of typography.
  • Moderate level of craft beer product knowledge.
  • Expert proficiency with the preparation of graphic materials using Adobe software products

Wholesale Delivery Person

The Wholesale Delivery Person is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of draft and packaged beer to our customers. In addition to this critical role, delivery persons serve as a front line to our customers, often seeing them in person more frequently than their sales representative.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading the truck each morning according to the invoices assigned to your route, and double checking for accuracy to ensure correct delivery and maximize efficiency
  • Safe and timely delivery to customers within, to the extent possible, their preferred delivery times
  • Delivery directly into cold storage with the signature of an authorized bar/restaurant employee for proof of delivery, and accurate calculation of final invoice amount based on keg credits and tap handle deposits
  • Retrieval of all empty kegs including a general awareness of keg deficits (i.e. consistently delivering more kegs than there are empties to be returned) or keg hoarding (holding onto or cellaring “vintage” kegs)
  • Continued communication with supervisor to make aware of any impending or ongoing issues with customers
  • Properly securing both empty and full kegs in the truck to prevent damage to interior of box
  • Operating the vehicle in a safe manner at all times
  • Responsible for proper service, maintenance, and repair of trucks
  • Bi-weekly exterior washing and interior cleaning for all trucks including front cab and box
  • Accurate and up to date mileage log as well as gas and other expenditures

Field & Oak Retail Associate

Field & Oak is Kane Brewing’s Spontaneous and Saison beer project.  We are looking for a Retail Associate to join our Field & Oak team.  The position would require approximately 35-40 hours of work over 5 days a week—mostly weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Learn all aspects of the Field & Oak brewing, cellaring, blending and fruiting process to be able to communicate to customers, answer questions and make recommendations
  • Prepare Field & Oak tasting area on weekly basis for small group tastings of the Field & Oak beers
  • Ensure proper serving conditions of beer with a focus on serving process and temperature
  • Manage all Field & Oak beer releases ensuring POS systems are correct and merchandise is stocked
  • Assist customers with their purchase of Field & Oak bottles and merchandise and process customer payments
  • Attend farmer’s markets as the sole Field & Oak brand representative to promote the brand and sell bottles.
  • Adhere to strict safety and sanitization protocols
  • Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues
  • Uphold high standards of service quality and consistency
  • Assist with other retail operations and Field & Oak production tasks as needed

Must be able to:

  • Stand for 6-8 hours per day
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while still prioritizing safety and customer experience
  • Work in a non-temperature-controlled environment with a mask on always
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays

  • 21 years of age

Beer Garden Server

We are currently looking for a part-time Server for our Beer Garden. This position will be focused on our outdoor beer garden, which plans to re-open in March. The position would require approximately 16-20 hours of work over 3 days a week, including weekends and holidays. IMPORTANT: If you already have a full or part-time position with a wholesale distributor of alcohol or a bar/restaurant and are looking for extra hours, please do not apply.  We cannot hire across tiers of the three-tier alcohol distribution system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and seat them at their appropriate tables
  • Adhere to strict safety and sanitization protocols
  • Pour and serve beer to customers, often handling multiple tables at one time
  • Maintain a clean environment and clear tables after service
  • Understand beer offerings and be able to answer questions as well as make recommendations.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues
  • Process customer payments
  • Ensure an enjoyable experience for all customers
  • Uphold high standards of service quality and consistency
  • Assist with other retail operations as needed
